Start Menu does not Open - Solution

·         Did you check if you’re able to open the Start menu from Safe mode?
·         Is your computer up-to-date with the all the latest device drivers?

Firstly, I would suggest you to perform system file scan on your computer.

Step 1: To perform a system file checker

Step 2: To boot the computer in Safe mode, follow the steps below
a.    Use F8 while restarting the computer.
b.    Under Windows Advanced Boot options, select Safe mode and hit Enter.
c.    Once you login to Safe mode, check if you’re able to open Start menu.
d.    If you’re able to open Start menu, then restart the computer back to normal windows mode and follow Step 3 to perform clean boot.

Note: Once the troubleshooting is done, reset the computer back to normal startup. There might be some conflicting software which is causing this issue to happen.

Step 5: Update your display drivers
Follow the steps under the section “To manually update drivers” from the link given below.
Note:The device you want to update the driver is display adapter in the device manager.
